Michael Tanzillo is a 3D artist and lighting artist. He contacted me to develop his personal brand. I looked at his work and I was really excited to do this for such a great 3D artist.
Come see this sad story with a happy ending with me…
I was happy with the logo proposals I delivered. They were 3 wordmarks, no isotype:

And then he replies that’s he really likes the second one…
“But with something like a face as an isotype next to it.”

“This guy is going to ruin his own logo!”…”It doesn’t make sense to put his face in it, it would be redundant”… “Why didn’t I say ‘NO’ to him?!” – I thought.
Surprisingly, just after 5 minutes of thinking about it… “There was light!”

This is the one face that did make sense to include in a 3D lighting artist logo!

So not only client but also designer lived happily ever after (or at least for some time).
